County of San Mateo Employee Wellness
The County Wellness program supports employees, retirees, and their dependents through organizational initiatives as well as physical, mental/emotional, and social/family wellness activities, services, and resources.
The mission statement for Employee Benefits & Wellness is to provide benefits and wellness services to employees, retirees, and their dependents based on their individual needs to maximize cost effectiveness, decrease barriers to preventive care access, and encourage quality health outcomes.
County Wellness Values
Empowerment: Inspiring employees with a deep understanding of lifestyle medicine and how they have the power to reverse or manage chronic conditions and medications.
Autonomy: Allowing employees to self-direct how and when they use lifestyle medicine to improve health status and giving lots of options that fit their readiness for change and bandwidth.
Community: Connecting employees to a support system to ensure lifestyle changes are sustainable and that they are working on health goals with the entire household.
